Our family, your home

OUR CARE

When home becomes difficult, we're here

Residential care supports people who can no longer manage safely at home. Perhaps daily tasks have become overwhelming. Maybe safety has become a concern. Or perhaps loneliness and isolation mean life at home no longer feels sustainable.

When home becomes difficult, we're here

Our Care

Our approach to residential care

Person-centred, always

Everyone has their own story, routines and preferences. We take time to learn what matters most to your loved one. From how they like their tea to what brings them comfort and joy. This becomes a personalised care plan our team uses and updates as their needs change.

Consistency you can feel

Many of our care teams have been with us for years. Seeing the same friendly faces day after day creates security, builds trust, and allows genuine relationships to develop. In a sector where staff turnover is high, our consistency is what families value most.

Activities that bring life

We believe life is for living. Our Activity Coordinators create varied programmes - from music and crafts to gardening, baking and gentle exercise. But we never pressure anyone to join in.

Family involvement welcomed

You're welcome to visit whenever you like, join activities, have meals together, or simply spend time in your loved one's room or our gardens. This is your loved ones home, and you're always part of our community.

DON’T TAKE OUR WORD

Hear from our families

“My father has always been the rock of our family, and watching him struggle with his health was incredibly difficult. RMD Care changed everything. The caregivers don’t just meet his needs—they connect with him, listen to his stories, and treat him with the respect he deserves. It feels like they’ve become an extension of our family, and that peace of mind is something I can’t put a price on.”
“The team noticed Dad's appetite had changed and contacted the GP straight away. They caught a treatable infection early, before it became serious. That's the benefit of having care staff who really know the people they look after."
"Having nurses on site at Cams Ridge means Mum's complex medical needs are managed professionally, but she doesn't have to keep going to appointments. The nurses coordinate everything, and I'm kept informed about her health throughout."

FOR PEACE OF MIND

Why our residential care is different

Who residential care helps

When daily tasks become overwhelming

Cooking, cleaning, washing, dressing - everyday tasks can slowly become exhausting. Residential care lifts that burden whilst maintaining your dignity and independence.

When safety becomes a concern

Falls, missed medication, or leaving the cooker on, these worries keep families awake at night. In a residential home, there's always someone nearby if you need help, and the environment is designed for safety.

When loneliness takes over

Loneliness can be devastating for both mental and physical health. Residential care provides daily social contact, friendship opportunities, and the comfort of knowing you're not alone.

When dementia makes home difficult

For people living with dementia, familiar routines, consistent faces and a safe environment reduce confusion and anxiety. Our residential homes specialise in dementia care.

What residential care includes

Personal care with dignity

We support daily routines such as washing, dressing, mobility and continence care. Always with respect, discretion and a focus on dignity.

Daily living support

Home-cooked meals, laundry, housekeeping and medication management are all taken care of, so you can relax knowing everything you need is handled with care.

Social and emotional wellbeing

Life here is full of opportunities to connect, from activities and outings to quiet moments with friends or family, all designed to support confidence and joy.

Healthcare coordination

We liaise with GPs, hospitals and other health professionals, arranging appointments and visits so you receive seamless, consistent care.

Residential care vs nursing care

When is residential care appropriate?

Residential care is suitable for people who:

  • Need help with daily tasks but don't require constant medical monitoring
  • Want support with personal care, meals and medication
  • Would benefit from social engagement and activities
  • Need a safe environment with staff available 24/7

When might nursing care be needed?

If someone has complex ongoing health conditions requiring registered nurses 24/7 (such as advanced COPD, PEG feeding, complex wound care, or unstable diabetes), nursing care at Cams Ridge or Bentley Lodge may be more appropriate.

Not sure which is right? We'll help you work it out during a conversation or visit. No pressure, just honest guidance.
