Caring for someone in the final stage of life requires specialist skills, deep sensitivity and unwavering compassion. We’re committed to care that keeps people comfortable and upholds dignity, surrounded by genuine compassion.
This is one of the most difficult times any family faces. We're here to walk alongside you, providing both expert care for your loved one and support for you throughout this journey.

Rather than spending final days in a hospital, people can remain in the place they've come to know as home, surrounded by staff who know them and their routines.
The same faces who've been caring for your loved one continue to care for them right to the end. That familiarity matters deeply when everything else is changing.
You're welcome at any time. Stay overnight if you wish. Be as involved in care as you want to be. This is your time together, and we'll support that in whatever way helps most.
We've cared for many people in their final days, and we understand how to provide care that maintains dignity, manages discomfort, and creates as much peace as possible in a difficult situation.
We provide clear, honest information about what typically happens during the final stages of life. We'll explain the physical signs and changes you might notice, answer your questions, and prepare you as gently as we can for what's ahead.
We can help with practical arrangements – discussing wishes, coordinating with funeral directors when the time comes, and ensuring all the necessary documentation is handled with care and respect.
This is an incredibly difficult time for families. Many people feel overwhelmed by sadness, guilt, exhaustion, or a complicated mix of emotions. Our staff understand this. They're here not just for your loved one, but for you too.
You're welcome to talk to our team about how you're feeling. We'll keep you informed about changes, involve you in decisions, and simply be available whenever you need us.
We’ll do everything we can to help you be with your loved one if you wish. Always in the way that feels right for you.
How we support your loved one and you.
Physical comfort
We work with GPs, district nurses and palliative care teams to manage pain and symptoms effectively. Our focus is comfort, reduced distress and quality of life in the time that remains.
At Cams Ridge and Bentley Lodge, 24/7 registered nurses provide immediate clinical support for pain relief and symptom management.
Emotional and spiritual support
Our team supports residents and families emotionally as well as physically. Sometimes what helps most is simply being present, sitting quietly, holding a hand or offering comfort without words.
We can also arrange faith-leader visits to meet spiritual needs with care and respect.
A peaceful environment
Whether in the tranquil countryside of Westlands, the beautiful gardens of Stanborough Lodge, or the calm settings of our other homes, we provide peaceful surroundings where people can spend their final days with dignity.
You can visit at any time – day or night. Stay as long as you like, be with your loved one whenever you need to, and know that our team is here to support you both.
